My name is Adrienne Breaux and I’m a writer, blogger, design nerd, crafter, wit master and pet sitter here in Austin. While you're reading this, there's at least an 80% chance that where ever I am, I'm watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. I have it on so often, if you closed your eyes, you'd think you were on the bridge of the Enterprise instead of in my room.

A graduate of Louisiana State University with a B.A. in Interior Design, I worked in the design field for years at a number of different design jobs, ran my own interior design consulting firm for over a year, and now do all sorts of freelance writing for the web and in print on the subjects of interior design, architecture, furniture, home design tips, and more. I've been lucky enough to convince a few pretty awesome websites to pay me on a regular basis. Among them are 2Modern, Apartment Therapy and CultureMap.

I enjoy making things and more writing. I'm a bit of a workaholic. I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I generally do a good job at what I do. I like to travel but am not very good at it. My favorite day of living so far would be a toss up between the day I met my best friend and that time I rode a bike through the Swiss Alps. Hiking the Cinque Terre is pretty high up there. The day I moved to Austin also wasn't terrible.

When I’m not writing, I can usually be found hiking, walking or running around the Greenbelt or Town Lake. I also really like smoothies, sushi and Googling photos of adorable kittens to attach to my professional emails. Jurassic Park, The Last of the Mohicans and Independence Day are genuinely three of my most favorite movies. I do not like swimming, honey, loud music or being in the sun. I really love Austin.
